Possession of the Night

Chapter One

~5 Years Earlier~

Tom ran so fast through the city, screams of people filled his years. He did not know or why but somehow Vampires had attacked the city. They sucking people dry left and right around him and flying through the air, the sounded of their screeching burned his ears. His family had split up and run but had promised each other once this was all over to meet up at their home, even though that was what his parents had asked he had to find his baby brother. He knew his twin brother Bill was to small weak to fight against these things. He had searched everywhere but there was no sign of him and the Vampires seemed to be moving closer in his direction.

After what felt like a century of running and searching he saw his brother Bill running on the side of the street. “Billi!” he shouted, he tried to run to him as he watched his brother turn and smile to him but in one quick barely visible move a Vampire came down and snatched Bill up in flew away with him in the air. “TOMI! Help me please!” he heard his brother shout. He ran after his brother, he heard him screaming for him in the sky, he screamed back to him and for the Vampire to let him go, but soon Tom became tired and he fell to the ground in tears.

“Take him to my house.” Tom heard someone say a little while later, he recognized the voice, it was his friend Georg. He felt to people lifting him off the ground, he was sure as day that the other person holding him was his other friend Gustav. “Has he been bitten?” he heard Georg ask. Tom then felt his neck being moved and then he heard Gustav speak. “No, he hasn't just think he collapsed from exhaustion.”. The two brought Tom Georg's house and locked themselves in a attic. There Tom slowly let his eyes flutter open and he sat up staring out the window into the night. “They took him.” he said.
“What?” asked Gustav
“The Vampires took Bill, I watched them. I chased them and tried to save him but I couldn't.” Both Georg and Gustav wrapped their arms around Tom and gently rocked him back and forth as he cried. The worry of what they were doing to Bill scared them. “We have to go out there.” he said in between sobs. “We have to find Billi.” Georg and Gustav looked out the window, everything was much calmer now and they knew it was probably safe to go out. They knodded and headed out.

“BILLI” shouted Tom as he ran around the now dead city. “Where are you?”. Georg and Gustav ran behind him doing the same. “Tom maybe we should go where you collapsed from chasing him and look for him there.” suggested Georg. The three agreed with him and headed up the street, not prepared for what they would find. When they reached the street they saw a figuring limping down the side walk holding his arm up to his neck. They could hear its heavy breathing.
“Stand Back.” ordered Georg “It may be one of them.” The figure got closer and the breathing got louder soon Tom was able to recognize it, and when it came into the light he immediately ran to it. “BILLI!!” he shouted happily, he wrapped his arms around his brother but Bill didn't he still held his neck and fell limp into his brother almost falling to the ground. “Billi whats wrong?” asked Tom holding his brother up and concerned. Bill did not reply nor whimper he just stood there staring at Toms neck. “Billi tell me what did they do to you?” Again their was no reply and Tom watched as Bills eyes rolled back and he passed out, Tom was able to catch him as he hit the ground. He gasped at when he saw what Bill had been hiding. There was a red bite mark on the right side of Bills neck. “NO!” screamed Tom. “NO! They couldn't have, they couldn't have drained my brother! I will kill them, I will kill them with my bare hands why!” He felt Georg behind him. “Lets get him home, there we can see what we can do with him.”

They 3 carried Bill home and laid him on Georg's bed, he was breathing heavy and shaking, tears poured from his eye lids as he tossed and turned. Tom sat next to him the whole time and held his cold hand tightly. The 3 covered up the bite mark with a bandages and were able to stop the bleeding. “We need to bring him to a hospital!” pleaded Tom.
“They can't do anything for him their, we are lucky we have him like this.” replied Gustav.
“He is right, once a person is bitten by them they usually just die on spot, Bill must have been able to get away quick enough so they could not drain him fully.” explained Georg.
Tom laid his head on his brothers chest and let his tears fall down. “Billi, i'm sorry, I should have helped you.”
“Tomi...” he heard Bill weakly say. “I love you Tomi. Please remember I always love you, what happens I always love you.”
“Oh Billi please just” Tom was then interrupted by Bill.
“Shhh....please just let me finish, What ever happens to me, I will be with you all and I will always love you, no matter what i'm like just please remember I love you all, I will always be by your side.”
“Billi! Don't talk such filth.” begged Tom. “You're going to be okay, We're going to get you some help, you will be fine........I.....I love you Billi, I love you so much baby brother.”
“Oh Tomi....I love you....” Bills features relaxed and his eyelids slowly closed, he could not hold on anymore.

Tom sat next to him the entire night. He kept his cold hand his and watched as Bills color drained from him. Georg and Gustav told Tom the morning that they had called someone to come and take care of Bill and had brought him down for breakfast. “Tom you need to eat something.” said Georg.
“How can I when my brother is dead upstairs!!” yelled Tom.
“He is in a better place Tom, he no longer has to worry about these Vampires.” said Gustav
“No because they killed him, they killed my baby brother!” Tom's head fell between his hands and he sobbed. Georg and Gustav stood around him trying to comfort hi as he cried but Tom just pushed away from him and headed back upstairs.

When he got to Bills room he saw something he never wanted to see. Bill was gone, he no longer lay in the bed, he was gone and the window was open. “BILL!” he shouted he ran to the window but there was no sign of him. “Whats going on?” asked Georg as he ran in. Both Gustav and Georg ran to the window. “Oh no!” said Gustav.
“He's gone!” said Tom now sobbing uncontrollably. “Billi! Where are you come back!” he yelled out the window. “Come Back!!”
